CIPFA design and manufacturing contest

Theme for 2025: Fashion accessories (glasses, necklaces, hats, scarfs, hair pins, etc.)

The winners of the 2025 CIPFA design and manufacturing contest have been announced:

 

Students from institutions in Québec province

1st place: Farnaz Yavari from CIMTAL (UQAC) for her scarf ring made with aluminium wire and recycled glass

2nd place: Gabriel Lefebvre from UQTR for his injection-molded hair clip made of recycled PLA

3rd place: Emilia Mercedes Marin Cordero from CMQ for her necklace made with steel wire and recycled aluminium

 

Students from institutions outside Québec province

1st place: Jose Eric Ortiz Castillo from the University of British Columbia for his nail art made from recycled polystyrene

2nd place: Kacper Uzdowski from the University of Edinburgh for his 3D printed earrings made with re-used steel powder

3rd place: Hannah Smyth-Liu and Sydney Yott from Gryphon Solidification and Materials Processing Laboratory, U. of Guelph for their sustainable wristwatch

Congratulations to the winners and to all students who participated in the contest. All accessories were wonderful and it was very nice to see how creative you were in your usage of recycled materials. That was truly inspiring!
